- Type or paste the text.
- Choose a voice, speed and pitch.
- Select Read aloud.
Questions
Where do the voices come from? Your operating system. That is why the list differs between Windows, macOS, Android and iOS, and why installing more system voices adds them here.
Why do the voices differ between devices? The list comes from the voices your operating system and browser provide, so a phone, a Mac and a Windows PC will each offer a different set.
Can I download the audio? Not currently. The browser speech API plays audio but does not expose a recording of it, so saving would mean re-synthesising the speech on a server.
